Benson is a hell of a RB and he DOESN'T fumble. The bears are trying to build a D first style team. With that you need a posession offense. A good running back that doesn't fumble. What they had wasn't getting it done.
On top of that you need an accurate QB and a good line. They drafted a decent QB to build and some good recievers and pulled muhsin in. I think they're moving in the right direction. Chad is improving and they drafted one hell of a tough reciever. I think people will be surprised by this kid. He's a lot like Boldin. but faster.

I never went to school with any pros...not that I know of anyways. But I played against a few in pick up games and real and what not.
