Thanks for the comment!!! great help...As for the name, everyone has there own opinions about everything in this world so what one more!!!

Great advice on some first mods, Im already looking for some 17 or 18" inch rims with 225/40 series tires..Rota, Volk, Prodrive are some of my choices...Also are there many differences between up-pipes and downpipes in brands..made with different material?, larger diameter?..

Also Im now catching up now on the ecu path, As far as my ITR I had a hondata s200....Im learning the WRX has many, such as Vishnu, Cobb, Ecu-tek??....what are the differences??

BTW I live in San Francisco so if there is a meet going on sometime, I would love to come check it out

Thnx

Welcome aboard.

If you miss your ITR's hatchback - you can get a wagon. One thing... if you get new rims and tires, keep the stockers with the RE92's as they are actally good as your winter-head-to-Tahoe wheels. That is if you like snowboarding and such. It's pretty neat getting waved through chain checkpoints while others are putting on chains.

First two mods I did was the intake silencer removal and wheels and tires (17's).

you should come out for the UCKK meet. Union city is about a half hour drive but it's a big meet and a great way to meet people. There are a few people that come from up your way and from Marin.

That meet is part of what got me to buy a WRX. I went there with my civic to talk to Kevin (wrexr) and see what the subaru scene was all about. I sold my civic and was in a wrx within about a month. Great people. Great info.

As for all the info. You won't get all your answers in this thread. Whatever you want to know just wanter around in those forums. If you don't see what you want. Search. If you don't find it ask. But make sure you search...we do have a few search ****'s. They'll get on you about it.

Tire wise. Make sure you keep your tires the same size. If you go 17 get 45 series tires. Most people are gonna recommend you go 17's. IMO 18's look better. But 17's have more tire sizes. You can run wider tires, lighter and the rest you'll hear when you start asking. All the brands you're looking at are great. I am going back and forth between STi wheel, rota's and gram lights myself.

And my opinion for first mod. WHEELS.

Hands down the wheels/tires will be the best thing you can do. But save your stockers for the winter and throw some nice snow tires on them.

After that it's up to you. But I strongly suggest you do the suspension first. Then start with the exhaust/up/down pipe. Tuning. etc.

welcome honda/acura cross over.

Get Centerline RPM's :cough:
Anywhatever, do a little research on what you want for your ECU, also. If you like doing all that crap yourself, there's nothing better then a UTEC. On the other hand, if your like me and end up blowing up your engine with do it yourself mods, I'd recommend an I-Speed tune with an ECUTek once you have all the mods you want on the car. Ask Zoeb (02blackwrx) how it helped him

Ya i was also thinking about buttonwillow, I've been there a few times with my R and been to Sears(infineon) few times also.

The UCKK meet sounds like a great way to meet some new faces...When's the next meet?

As far as rims, many WRX's are running 18's, is there a downside to them?

Check the "meets" section in this Bay Area section of the board. UCKK is normally in the evenings every Tuesday at the Krispy Kreme.

Personal preference, I wouldn't go bigger than 17's. 18's get pretty heavy.

First thing I would do is get some track time with the car. AWD is crazy different than anything I have ever driven before. A day at Laguna Seca with an instructor in the passenger seat showed me what these cars can really do.

Mods I would do first:

new tires
group N motor & tranny mounts
short shifter
steering rack bushings
replace IC hoses

I would also re-ground the car. It helps get rid of the Subaru red-light stumble.

If you want Rotas, subydude is your man.

If you want Prodrive or other nice stuff, www.autoinnovations.com is in Milpitas and are good guys.

everyones suggestions are great, however, IMO, the best first mods you could possibly do are:

Wheels/tires (was my first mod)
WINDOW TINT (unless you like driving in a fishbowl )
Motor/Tranny mounts
silencer removal.....(the cheapest mod you can do to your car.)

good luck with your mods, and welcome to I-CLUB!

Thanks for all the warm welcomes here at the I-club....hopefully I can meet you guys at the next meet.

Im currently looking for some 18's..gunmetal Rota's or Volk's...225/40/18 is what Im noticing is what everyone is mostly recommending. I have been in contact with Vishnu into some performance upgrade such as there stage packages.

Has anyone have any good experiences with Vishnu??...
