Newb here, almost fiished 92x-sti swap

After lurking these forums for valuable information I thought I'd give back and introduce myself with some teaser pics.

Picked up this 9-2x on the cheap because it had a light rod knock. Only wanted to do an engine swap, but came across a whole sti swap on the cheap.

Gettin my rally stance on.

6speed in

Wish I could use the red intake

Went together without a hitch, until I went to start it. Flashed the tune, turned the key and nothing. Not even a click from the starter. Try the key a couple more times and still nothing. Then ah ha! Push in the clutch you idiot Boom fires right up!

Drove it down the driveway and turned it around. Front wheel drive only for the moment. Waiting on the rear brakes to come in so I can complete the swap.

Many thanks to:

Gotta rewire the whole car to use the drive by wire from the STI. Not something I had the time for. The TB is totally different, and the STI manifold doesn't have the idle air bypass that the wrx/92x does.

Might just get the wrx manifold powdercoated.

Running it off the 9-2x ecu with just a cobb accessport. I saw an article on rewiring the tgvs to run the avcs, but gotta research it more before I head down that road.

You're not the Jeremy that does the invisiguard are you?

I was just assuming if he had an "STI swap" he was running the full swap with STI ECU, wire throttle, etc. So Im guessing hes running the STI motor with with wire throttle off the stock ECU and no AVCS?? Ive been out of the Suby modding game for about 4 years now, gimme a break!
