Talking New track in merced

I tried searching and i think this is new news.... this track looks AMAZING!!! and its gonna have everything from karting to rally x to a 3 mile track with 40 different variations!!! I hope nobody posted this yet but another thing is it is ALL ready to be built but it needs approval by the merced chairmen or something.... I guess if you go here http://www.rmpracing.com/fast_track_0705.pdf and email the two guys at the bottom with your approval it'll help... doesn't sound to me like they are going to need the help though.

Riverside Motorsports Park is a 1200-acre, motorsports-themed family recreation and entertainment center in development in Merced County, California. The Park will feature multiple racetracks for every form of automobile, truck, motorcycle and kart racing—meeting the needs of professional and club racing sanctioning organizations across the United States.

A landscaped environment complete with RV facilities, picnic grounds, upscale food courts and family restaurants, video and game arcades, playgrounds and clean, attended restrooms, the park will be a motorsports and recreational destination for racers, race fans and families from California, the West, and the entire United States. In addition to motorsports events, the Park plans to feature mid-week racing and technical motorsports schools, music concerts, car shows and business center events.

no. According to their press releases they just submitted there EIR (enviromental impact report) to merced in august. I can guaruntee that they are far from being complete. My guess is that it will be open in a minimum of a few years assuming everything goes smoothly and nobody attempts to sue or stop them.

This track has been "just around the corner" for at least the last 5 years. We'll see if they ever actually get it built.

Yeah, well something like this takes a lot of time and money. I hear they are far into their EIR and the modesto chairmen or whatever are going to vote on it soon. I don't see why they wouldnt want it because of how good it could be for the local economy/put them on the map.

I think they have a pretty good shot but I do agree that it will take a couple years most likely

yeah, saw this LONG time ago. Unfortunately, the State of Cali doesn't really support automotive racing. Many smaller race tracks are suffering and some even have been running without a business license. Many have closed or are closing down.

If that track is built soon, I might transfer to UC Merced instead of Davis.
