I have an '02 with 82,000 miles with no tranny problems and they seem to be the weakest of the trannies so I am not too worried when I get my new '06 in a couple weeks(hopefully)

If you have the dough getting the 2006 is a no brainer. 2.5L and 4pot brakes....nuff said.

Either way you will be happy, good luck with your decision.

Although the diff between the 2.5L and the 2.0 is a world apart, I personally think the 4 pots are overrated. Sure, they look nice, and they might stop alittle better, but my pads/fluid/lines on stock 03 WRX calipers will cold outstop them anytime, unless, ofcourse, the 4 pots are equipped with the same pad/fluid/lines. Although I have not owned any myself, I don't think the 4 pots will withstand significantly more brake fade, either, compared to mine. I have only experienced brake fade a handful of times on twisty back roads, definately not enough to push me to purchase a race setup, or even less, 4 pots.

I have been thinking about getting an '06 wagon for a little bit. I had a 2003 Sedan and it was awesome - bugeyes rock (especially in silver..). I sold it after getting a 2001 and setting a goal to get a swap done. Now I know I prolly won't get that swap done so I am back looking for a WRX again and I am heading toward the '06 unless I can find a killer deal on a bugeye wagon. I can't argue with the 2.5L, better dash (though I hate the new cloth seats), 4pots which I wanted anyway and that awesome steel grey.. The 17's look nice but they are sooo heavy. I am pretty happy with my WRX brakes on the RS w/ porterfield R4s, ss lines and a flush/bleed but I hate floating calipers..
