I really like the new 370Z. However I don't know if $40K for the NISMO edition is worth it for what it comes included with in comparison to a lower end 370Z.

I have base model 350z with vq35hr engine (306hp). If I mod this z to compete with this nismo, I would need some exhuast, intake, ecu, suspension, brakes, and body kit. That would be easily excess of 10,000 to 15,000.
I think this NISMO will perform well as a weekend track car and DD at the same time. But I have to see it in person to make my decision on if it does look good or not. This is tempting....

True, but I didn't say a base 350Z, I said a base 370Z.

Actually, looking at the Nissan website. It looks like your best bet would be to start with the 370Z with Sport Package (MSRP = $32,930). If you assume $40K as the exact price (obviously wouldn't be exact, but that gives a base price to use). Then that is about $7,070 more for the NISMO edition.

The Sport Package already has 19' RAYS wheels, the Nissan sport brakes package, chin spoiler and rear body spoiler.

http://www.nissanusa.com/configurato...HTML_Nav.build

If you don't like the wheels on the Sport Package, I am sure you could sell them and help get back a good chunk of change and you could use that for some new wheels. I am not sure if the rear spoiler is built in or can be removed, but I am sure it probably can be removed. Both of those items could possibly be sold off to someone with a different 370Z package (probably base model) and that money could be used towards a different body kit.

Even if you spend another $1K on wheels you still have $6K more to use to tune the car to your desired specs. I just am not sure that the $7K bump in price (and probably more with dealer mark-up) is worth it initially for the NISMO edition compared to the lower end 370Z's. However as time went on and the car comes down in price I would definitely consider getting one.

Compared to the 350Z it would be worth upgrading. Compared to a 370Z though I am not sure that it is worth it overall.

NISMO is covered by the warranty though. Just wait for 2011 and get the older one on the lot for around 35K.

looks like they even added a sports horn lol

hella supertones? or a Quack Quack sound?

Delving deeper into the site, our interest was again piqued by what Nissan calls the Stylish Package—more specifically, by one of its included items. The group is mostly made up of dress-up pieces, although our favorite is the “sports horn.” Would that be considered a sound-fast part, and more important, what would it sound like? Leave it to the Japanese to tune a car’s honk for performance.

Or you can get a faster, more capable car (EVO) for over $10k less OTD.
