New Guy Intro

Hey all,
Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm new to the Bay Area as of about 4 months ago and I'm trying to figure out the car scene out here.

I moved from Cleveland (which sucks, btw) where we had meets probably 5-6 months out of the year pretty much every Friday/Saturday, but really there was only one meet where everyone went to, and it was for ALL cars.

... and it usually ended with some 'activity' every evening around 1AM. We had some intense cars doing this 'activity' as well.

Anyhow, back on topic... I'm looking to come to some meets (despite not have having a Subaru.. it doesn't look like there are car neutral meets?), as well as meet a bunch of people, whenever where ever.

The meets list here is awesome... but I also hear that at any given In-n-Out or similar, there are people meeting up. Are there are any 'unlisted' meet locations or perhaps a forum for just everyone to discuss meeting up(I suppose it won't be on i-club).

Thanks, looking forward to meeting some or all of you.

We have 'activities' here too, big ones, but they are sanctioned and run by organizations like NASA, SCCA, Global Time attack etc..

Street racing is for tools. We've got an AutoxX event a week from today. You should come down get it out of your system

First off, let me apologize for not being clear. I wasn't seeking out those type of events -- I never participated anyways, I was just giving a background on where I was coming from.

Second, it isn't what you're thinking. We don't have weapons or bet money, it's all in fun, it was usually on an empty freeway and from a roll. Never had any accident, never had an arrest, never had a single problem. We're not talking F&F type people.

Anyhow, that's not relevant, I just want to meetup with *all* kinds of cars and chitchat. You couldn't pay me to try to race in CA. Not worth it by any means.

Apologies, off to the wrong foot.

Well, if it was from a roll then as long as it's through a school zone you're all good.

Welcome to the Bay.

A nice meet to check out is at Santana Row on clear saturday mornings ~10-11am.

Its a higher end gathering, but no one cares what you show up in. It varies week to week, but you can catch some SWEET cars (599 GTO's, Enzo, a Veyron or two...)

Also you're allowed to do ONLY 75+ in a 35 zone with over a mile stretch of road.

Oh if you really wanna mess around go to 7th street oakland friday nights, be aware you won't get shot at, find many annoying cars, slow cars, and...... idiots. There's plenty of them on youtube and facebook.

Welcome, unfortunately you won't understand like 80% of what everyone else is talking about, but that's besides the point. If you're interested in meets, definitely check out bayarearacing.org and also the local meets here on i-club. There's meets all around the bay, so you won't have trouble finding one to make it to.
