New coolant?
heya, so, my dad is an engineer and gets really excited about stuff like this. Have any of you heard of this stuf yet?
Autocool's Hydrocarbon based (HC vs. CFC & HFC) HC12a refrigerant is
totally
compatible with all systems, seals, hoses and oils, is 12% - 32% more
efficient than R-12 and 20% - 40% more efficient than R134a, non-toxic,
non-ozone depleting, is lighter than R-12 (1 oz of HC12a = approx. 3
ozs of
R-12) so it reduces compressor load up to 40%, thereby extending
component
life and increasing gas mileage by up to 5%, is relatively cheap and
has no
adverse reaction to moisture.
It is also not controlled by the EPA, so anyone can buy it and it is
made in
the USA !

That's pretty interesting, especially for older vehicles where R-12 refrigerant is cost prohibitive.
My system is still functioning properly with no leaks but I would read up on this stuff if my system needed servicing in the future.
