new to area

Hello, My name is Mark I'm originally from So Cal, and just moved to Berkeley. i got a fix it ticket and i dont have my stock exhaust anymore, but i did a engine swap and now i have a ej20. Can i borrow anyone's spare turbo exhaust? I believe GD will fit under my GC, that would be awesome if anyone could lend it to me, so i can handle my fix it ticket. I would have to connect from down-pipe and go all the way back. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. I'll be getting rid of my tint that got me in trouble, so after this I should have no problems

I've waved to fellow subbies, but don't get a lot of waves back. I have pics of my car incase you have run into me

Mark

Very nice ride. Were you able get it BAR certified in 1st place. I'm assuming state ref will look for that.

Welcome to the Bay! I'm originally from Vannuys. I'm in Berkeley/Oakland/Emeryville all the time, but I'm usually smashing around in my truck (has an iclub sticker on the back).

What was the ticket for? Do you just need a DP with a cat?

my ticket is for
- tint, which i'm removing, (its listed as front tinted) (should i just remove the front windows or all? its blue, not legal color)
- exhaust (i would need stock piping from turbo to the back, down pipe, cat, mid, exhaust)
- bald front tires, my tire hook up is in so cal, (anyone have 5x100 17's?)

The officer gave you a ticket for bald front tires!?!?!

What did it say specifically? If I recall correctly you exhaust just has to have a cat and be under a certain decibel level?

I would put on a DP with a cat and try to get it signed off, I can loan you my stock STI DP with a cat if you give me yours as a deposit.

I'd remove all the tint if its blue, if it were black, I'd say just do the front.

he wanted to bust me for all he could do, if he had the code i would have been written up for intake also... but he couldn't find the code.

my friend confirmed that GD will fit underneath, just that a hangers might not line up.

Oh man, I've almost been tagged for bald tires too, this was in Fremont a long time ago. I can't believe he didn't tag you for your intake! That's a pain in the *** ticket and would have required you to go to the state ref, unlike your exhaust which is a noise violation and you can get it written off without going to a state ref.

Why did you get blue tint? Doesn't that screw with your sight? It would drive me crazy if everything was blue all the time! Once I saw a car with bright yellow tint... I swear, if my car had yellow tint, I'd have to wear dark blue glasses to even out the color to make it somewhat darker and less yellow. Just get rid of ALL that tint, it not only makes the car look cheap but it makes you into a cop magnet (obviously)

I have a stock downpipe and midpipe that fits on my '02 WRX and contains two cats. No catback though, so that won't really help you out with the noise violation. I'd let you borrow it if you can leave me a deposit, but you'll still need the muffler so if you can find someone that has the whole setup, you're better off doing that. PM me if you need it.

Edit: I just re-read the post. Appears you only need the catback so I'm no help. Good luck.

You can borrow my stock Forester XT catback, it should fit. I also have my stock 17x7 48+ offset Forester wheels with Geolanders on them, I'd sell those if you are interested.
