With the 09 wrx now at 265hp and faster then the 08 sti Subaru really had to step up the game when it came to the 09 sti. The 09 sti is said to have between 320-330hp. That should be able to get time times of the 09 sti into the 12's and 4.3 to 60mph. I still think that the problem is hot the 330hp but the weight of the new sti.

it seems to me, subaru has raised the bar for the 09 wrx so high, its just gonna be impossible to make a good performing STI which is still affordable. expect 2009 to be another bad year for the STI. Hopefully in 2010, subaru will create something special

I guess I'm one of the few that think two door AWD cars don't serve much of a purpose. One of the reasons we ended up with an RS in '00 was because they finally brought a 4 door to the US. I for one love the new hatch style. The sedan though...ugh...

Does it really matter. People here can get that power range with only a few bolt on or better tune. I would say bring 400hp sti.

 

^^ true dat!! now a 400 HP STI would be something ... and i wonder what Mitsubishi is gonna do with EVO then ... if Subaru steps it up for the STI ?

 

Someone on IW already has an 09. No changes except offering SWP and a sunroof.
