Netbook? How do you guys like them?
I'm kicking around getting a netbook for tuning purposes mainly. How are the netbooks? How's the battery life? Any things I should watch out for? What brands seem better than others because I know sometimes even the top brands have bugs and quirks that haven't been fixed yet.
If somebody has one that they'd like to trade for a snowboard and some gear, please let me know. If I'm going to use cash, I'm just gonna buy a new one.
I already have a macbook pro and this netbook I am going to get is only going to be used LIGHT internet browsing and tuning purposes using romraider/ecuflash and whatever other tuning products I learn about

the netbook craze has somewhat died out in the past few years. my advice is to get a portable laptop. I'd reccomend you take a gander at the lenovo U series (13 inch), its a few inches larger than a netbook, but you get so much more power. battery life is pretty amazing too.

If you are set on getting a netbook get a used one for less than $75. They are obsolete when brand new. I have one and only use it for browsing while pooping. I forget what kind I have but I did put another gig of ram in it and it helped a lot. My friend upgraded so I got a 2gb stick for free.

But I dont need graphics/ performance if I'm just using it to tune. I have a macbook pro already for that kind of stuff. This is going to be a second laptop that is used for LIGHT internet browsing for learning how to tune, using romraider and ecuflash. Pretty much it.

I havent used mine for tuning. Basically just in class notes, browsing etc. I got an awesome deal on mine so I love it. But the battery lasts long, easy to carry. I'd get one but wouldnt pay more than $200.

You know what, a tablet might be pretty sweet for tuning if there was software that would run on it. Throw in the fact that android has usb host capabilities, you could use a nexus 7 as a headunit too and kill 2 birds with 1 stone
of course, that would be somewhat impractical, but i liked how it sounded in my head

I got a Toshiba NB305, I have used it for over a year as my only laptop and it has worked great. I believe it was $350 new a couple years ago but I got it for a steal used from my brother. (He barely used it because it was lacking a disc drive)

any laptop should work. just buy a cigarette charger adapter. if possible find a computer with windows 7 or windows xp as im unsure how window 8 adapters will react with the tactrix. i know my windows 7 adapters have huge issues too and the tactrix works when it wants and shuts off when it wants.
ive deleted and reinstalled the entire setup like 3 times with all the ecu defs and ****. my recommedation is to only use that computer for tuning. my issues might come from gaming on the same laptop lol.

Well if I can find some information on tablets about being able to run romraider and ecuflash through a 2.0 tatrix cable I may just get one but that doesnt sound realistic. I wouldn't mind doing that though. I'll have to do some research because I don't know JACK about tablets
Check that out
The android version should be out soon. I believe they already have an IOS version. Works with bluetooth, wifi AND tactrix
