Need Three Stock WRXs for Event - Free Tires

Hello All,

A major tire manufacturer is holding a press-only Ride & Drive event on Friday, July 29, in San Jose.

They need three **STOCK** 2003+ WRX's for members of the press to drive (probably guys from Road & Track, Car & Driver, etc..) at this event. They already have all the cars that Subaru corporate can provide for the event, but are three vehicles short.

What you get: A free set of high performance tires and dinner with the press.

I know, it's scary having someone else drive your car. The manufactuer also said they will cover the cost of any damage to your vehicle, should any occur.

I will be out of town for the next week, so I won't be able to personally follow-up with this.

If your car is STOCK and can be made available for members of the press to drive on Friday, July 29, please email: gwagener@gpclarke.com

Please do not request to participate if you have any car modifications that would affect handling or performance.

Thanks,

Ryan Douthit

I know which tires they are (or have a dang good guess), but am not at liberty to say in public. I WILL say that the tires work VERY well though

This almost (note I said ALMOST ) makes me wish I still had a stock WRX.....

If you're participating in the event, you *will* know who it is before you have to make a final commitment. I just don't want to broadcast it.

Maybe the 02s typically have too many miles on their struts, bushings etc?

Ahh, I wonder if it still has to have stock tires (RE92s)? I'm guessing that makes life even more difficult. Are they planning to swap tires out?

Tires and wheels aren't a concern. Cars will be equipped with new ones for the event.

I would guess that since those don't affect the feel of the rubber to the pavement, that it won't be a problem. (unlike springs, struts, and HP gains, which do). Check with the guy at the email above, see what he says.
