So last night, me and Matt (04caliwrx) went to Buy Buy and bought this Samsung for $1099 http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/d...LN46A500T1FXZA
Thanks man for helping me haul it home in your car after we found out that a 46" tv doesn't fit in a WRX despite how hard we tried.
After putting it on my desk in place of my monitor, I then proceded to play video games.
It was kinda like doing drugs. Sitting like 3 feet away my eyes kinda hurt after a few hours though.

QFTT!
Only reason to EVER buy 720 is if it's a smaller tv and you find a great deal. And by smaller I mean 32" or less.
people would be lying if they said there is absolutely no difference in quality between 37" 720 and 37" 1080. Especially if you wanna use it for a monitor.
This is what I want to buy after christmas

37" 1080p Westinghouse. I am currently using my xbox360 on a 22" samsung monitor in 720p so I am sure i'd be very happy with 37" in 1080p haha

I don't think the technology for OLED televisions will be implited for another 10 or 15 years.
Right now though it is starting out small, going into some of the new monitors and phones in Japan.
I will be VERY interested in seeing an OLED television that will basically mold and shape like wallpaper over an entire wall *drool*

650 and 750 series are pretty good TVs I've found. First ones since late last year to address the macroblocking issues found on 550, 450 and older TVs all the way back to 2004.
I still prefer the Sonys. I got a 42" vizio in Feb for $950... its in my bedroom on the wall. I use it for TV and as an extended desktop from my PC for videos and stuff.

Enjoy your new set...

$950 at Frys... That's a freaking steal for a Sony. Doesn't have 120hz, which is a good thing.
