need some printer/picture/computer help
So I am having issues with a picture I'm trying to print out for the christmas card. I photoshopped it, but when I printed it out it came out really dark. Is there a possible problem with the printer and the computer? I don't know what to do. haha. help!
make sure you have the latest driver.
also, make sure the paper TYPE is correct. too much ink can make things dark since the printer is expecting regular paper while you have like gloss paper...
check the printer driver for proper color space too.

First of all before printing make sure you are printing in CMYK color mode with 300 resolution. If its still too dark just go to image > adjustments > variations.... then lighten it up a bit and try printing again.
Paper type does make a big difference. I recently made a dvd box cover that came out too dark cause I used gloss paper so I had to lighten it up a lot to make it look normal.

It sounds like your monitor may need to be calibrated.

I think you can buy a device to do this at CompUSA, IIRC, it's under $100. There may also be some methods described online, google "Monitor Calibration."
