Need Some Help Buying a Laptop!
Hey all, just wanted to see if anyone has more information or a free "hook-up" on this Dell coupon/promotion:
http://search.ebay.com/dell-home-35-coupon
Are people here just selling information and getting a 100% profit? Inquiring minds would like to know.
Thanks in advance

Usually when you order a Dell, they give you coupons randomly on new laptops. You can try going to http://www.fatwallet.com/c/64/ and see if anyone is willing to give you one there. Though, Dell has some really good coupons right after summer vacation for students. I got my Dell with $750 off with one of those.

Hey thanks a bunch for the link! I will try and use one of the freebies the users are giving out. Looks like a great resource.

Get a Mac laptop, forget the Dells. Apple laptops will outlast the Dell and will keep their value a lot better than the Dell. Just my opinion.

If you want a laptop to last, then get a Lenovo. Formerly IBM, they're great computers but more expensive than dells.

I honestly don't know where you guys get your information about Dell's being bunk. Their parts are easy to replace and inexpensive. If your Mac goes haywire, guess how much you'll be paying for those proprietary parts.

They're cheaply built. It's a well known fact, though atleast they make it up with good customer service. Their HDs have no protection whatsoever, so most times, if you drop your laptop from a decent distance, say good bye to it. While Lenovos have cages and a whole bunch of protection over them.
Why do you think their parts are easy to replace and inexpensive? It's like how everyone says on the boards, you get what you pay for.
I personally own a Dell 700m, and it's perfect for my needs, but I know it won't last much longer than 3-4 years until it'll only be a internet browser and word document typer. If I had the money, I would have gotten a Lenovo, but with how much I use it doesn't justify the price difference.
