Need a quality mechanic for head gasket job

My engine, an NA SOHC ej25, is at 117K with original head gaskets, timing belt, etc. It runs very well, doesn't burn oil, so I don't think it needs a full rebuild, but I need to find a shop to do the head gaskets, timing belt, valve cover gaskets, etc. I'm broke but I know this job is critical, so I'm hoping to find someone in the mid price range to do the job. Also if you could tell me what I should expect to spend. I need head gaskets, timing belt kit, valve cover gaskets, and anything else I should do while they're in there.

I'm in the San Jose area but I'm not really concerned about where the shop is, anywhere in the bay area is fine. I'm more concerned with finding high quality work at a price I can afford. I took this car to Garage One before I bought it for a pre-purchase inspection. I would love to have them do the job but based on the estimate they gave me, I can't afford them.

Kevin at AutoHQ in downtown Mountain View hands down. He did my HG job along with clutch and a whole list of stuff at the same time when I was at 145K. Im now currently over 206K and engine ran better than new and is still going strong. He would be the closest to you if you are looking for quality at not too high of a price!

No I know what I said, and I stand by it. I guess I should have said "Sacramento area: drive to EQ"

Yes, that's correct! Their new shop in Campbell is quite big and much easier to find.
