Need one GC to prototype fender brace
TV motorsports needs one GC (2.5RS, OBS, L, brighton, whatever) to prototype fender braces! We'll need your car for an hour or two, to create a prototype, then the necessary bits to create duplicates, then test fit the prototype on your car.
What do you get in return? We'll coat the prototype with a rust inhibiting paint, and give it to you for free! The braces are made from dual chromoly tubes, with heavy duty mild steel brackets. All MIG welded, definitely very, very strong.
We're welding in Redwood City, so southbay/SF folks would be preferable, but if you feel like making the trek, we'd be happy to help out an east/north bay impreza!
Some classic ('93-'01) imprezas do not have the factory supplied rear fender brace mounting location, you'll have to check to see if you have it.
Do you have the fender brace's rear mount? with the driver or passenger door open, look between the door hinges and slightly forward under the fender, and you'll see one of three things:
1. a bracket to an aftermarket fender brace, you probably put it there
2. a bracket to a stock brace
3. a pair of holes (a brace should go here!)
4. a pair of covered holes
basically, in cases 1-3, you are a candidate. I'll be back home the 15th, and could do it literally anytime after that.
Let me know folks! thanks!

We'll have brackets cut ahead of time, so the most time-consuming thing will be measuring and drilling, the actually welding is not so bad.
My initial guess is around 30 minutes per piece (three pieces). The fender braces are symmetrical, so we only have to do one side, then whip up a symmetrical duplicate for the other side.
2 hours is a safe guess, which allows for the unexpected, and taking apart/putting on the fender to get you home. Lunch and delicious cool lemonades will probably also be available.
