Thanks for all the tips guys.

I'll look into everybody posted here. Mann is at SEMA, RBMS has a voicemail saying they'll be back Friday (probably at SEMA also) talked to Garage1.

Once upon a time in a land where I frequently went to meetups and didn't have 2 kids 2 jobs a wife a house and negative free time I would have taken it to LIC in a heartbeat (especially if I needed a swap). Everything is a trade off these days.

I appreciate all the help and feedback. Still in the mourning phase especially since I'm a whopping 7 months out of my power train warranty... Disappointing to say the least since my 03 was so reliable and this had no mods.

Not to derail my own thread but 20 minutes from South SJ? That's selling the old married dude (me) short a bit.

45 minutes in no traffic at "Google Maps speed" with no traffic. In rush hour on 880 you might as well shoot me .

LOL. I was going to say the same thing. Even during non commute hours it is easily 45 minutes from where I am (Milpitas) so from South SJ it's definitely more than that. OMA lives on the other side of the mountains though

Mann won't be back from SEMA until the 11th and I think they're fairly booked when they come back (I have an appointment ) The new shop has a really nice engine build area too.

Pssht. You guys are slow. Takes me less than 45 minutes to get from Santa Cruz to Milpitas.

I used to drive from Watsonville to San Francisco to commute... this dude don't play.

werd. Doesn't matter where it is if you've got the 100 mile tow. They'll take it to any shop we're talking about. All are within 100 miles. Hell... I think Paul at FW might be within 100 miles.

FYI, if you think an extra $50-60 bucks of towing is the deal breaker for whether you take your car to a good shop that everyone here trust and recommends, or the cheapest shop you can find closest to you, then you probably aren't ready for the THOUSANDS of dollars you will need to spend fix your a subaru that needs a motor pulled/rebuilt/re-installed.

Just for the record, I'm in agreement.

+1 thinking the same thing. If spending thousands of bucks some people are even willing to go out of state or 100's of miles for the right shop, let alone like 60 miles.
