Need help w/ DENT estimate? Thanks

Hey guys, I have a brp 2.5 rs and some idiot decided to knee my front right fender the other day. There is a dent there the size of a fist about 4-5 inches in diameter. Its located about in between the top of the wheel well and the front headlights.

So I went to creative kustom, a place in san jose (b/c some ppl seemed to have reccomended it for dent repair) and they gave me an estimate of $914.07. I thought that was insane b/c it looks like all it needs is a little suction tool thing to pop it right out. Anyways, my question was I am planning to go to 2-3 different Paintless dent removal specialists to get an estimate, and what should I be looking at in terms of how much to dish out? I honestly think anything under $100 is about right, but can anyone let me know if theyve had any previous experience with this? Thanks alot guys!

Dan

OYA BTW, if anyone knows any dent ppl cheap in or around the SF bay area, let me know also. Thanks

Wow that's pretty much the same place and size of my dent (think mine is a little bigger) on my car. I caused the dent myself and I have yet to get a quote but figured it would be expensive since paint is chipped off my fender.

Do you have any paint that chipped off? If so it can be costly to get things painted properly. After I get some quotes I'll let you know what people have been quoting me.

na bro, mine doesnt have paint chipped off luckily. it looks as if though you can take a suction tool thingy and simply pop it back...but I doubt its that easy. I think for your dent to be fixed (including painted)...it might be anywhere from 400-900 depending on where you went.

hey there! I take it you are the one that emailed me about your dent? For $900 you might just well get a new fender and paint it! I replied to your email already. Although I am not doing dents right now, I am more than happy to help you out and give you an estimate.

That's what they quoted him for...body shops rarely do dent removal anymore. Their techs don't have the skill to work with existing materials, they're simply "remove/replace/paint" guys nowadays.

It takes going to a good old school shop to get any REAL body WORK done.

but a REAL good old school shop probably has a high labor rate as well.

dent performance does excellent work! he is a little on the pricey side but no where near $900 but IMO he is worth every penny. the guy just does great work. I think if you call him he goes to your location and does the work.

here is his number: (408) 227-8031

I don't know what new fenders on an 01 RS cost but for my 03 WRX the parts guy at a subaru delearship up in Sac quoted me $213.55 or $234.95 (depending on build date) for new fenders.
