Anyone have an impact wrench? I need help!

I'm trying to change my springs and struts but I can't break the strut top nuts loose on the front struts. I've tried everything including the allen wrench, strap wrench, both and I can't budge them.

Is there someone local with an impact wrench that can break them loose for me? I can drive them over to wherever you are. I am in Milpitas.

Thanks!!

find a pipe or something attach it to the end of the ratchet so you can get some torque on the nut

Yeah, I tried that but the problem is holding the strut to keep it from turning. Strap wrench wont work (it slips) and I'm afraid I will strip out the allen. Someone with an impact should be able to break it loose easily.

I've got GearWrenches you can use and an impact wrench. I'd be happy to help. I'm in San Jose.

I've been there and done exactly what problems you are having. Here's what worked. You will have to reinstall them on the car. Then while the strut is mounted back like normal and you lowered the car to the ground, loosen the nut. You should have loosened the nuts before you removed the strut. That's the only thing short of having an impact gun.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I really appreciate it. Yeah, I bought the whole gear wrench set and tried that too. I'm just really goosey about stripping that allen hole. I'm going to go check out an impact wrench a guy is selling and if that works I'm set. If not I'll see if Rob can help me out. Thanks again!
