If you go up to Foothill College on Friday nights (<- I think) there is an astronomy group that meets in the top parking lot

they've actually been doing major construction on that lot where the observatory is, so idk if the observatory is open (if it is, there will be very limited parking lol)

Only if you'd gotten the right constellation (Pleiades for Subaru).

I have this telescope... It will take 2 people to set up and weighs a lot. Might take more than a sixpack, lol. I'm in SJ.

PS: You can hook any 35mm camera to it and it does auto tracking so you can do long exposures without worrying about the movement of the earth (The telescope mount compensates for the movement). I also have a bunch of 1.25 and 2" eyepieces that range from 1mm to 45mm, and I also have colored filters and some barlows.

We'd have to go somewhere cool, dark, and we'd need a group of people or something... Maybe do a BBQ at sunset somewhere and then set up the scope. Joseph D Grant park would be nice, but in order to be there after dark we'd have to rent a campsite, which is no big deal since it's like $50, and if we get 10 people thats $5 each. Not bad, and it'll be more private.

I'd be down to do it when it gets a little warmer. we don't have to camp, but by renting the site we can stay as late as we want and bbq and stuff. I'd totally be down if we got some cool folks together. I'm sure we can get some other astronomy folks out, I can't be the only one with a telescope!

Now I just gotta figure out how to mount that scope onto my rifle. lol
