Need help with extended wheel studs
Has anyone in the south bay installed the arp extended studs without removing the hub? trying to get more info but hardly anyone has done this. any shops are welcome to comment =]
For the front I removed the hub (stupid easy just 4 bolts and the axle nut) since I have the 06 hubs with the extra casting. You can probably just hammer out the studs in the front and pull the arp ones through like normal. For the rear I removed the abs sensor and bored out the hole so the stud would fit through it. Then it's just the normal pull the stud tight with washers and lug nut.

I heard the fronts are easy. If you don't want to take apart the rear hubs then you have to grind down the diameter of the head of the new studs to have them fit through the abs sensor hole. I've done it a few times and would help if you were closer. There's a good writeup somewhere that I used though.

why would you need to take out the hub? when I did mine i just tapped out the old ones and pulled the new ones though by running an open ended lug nut all the way down with an impact wrench, that should seat them into the hub
For the 06+ (well sti) there is extra casting (like a big ear) so you can't put the arp stud back in the normal way. You have to loosen the axle nut and 4 hub bolts and slide it forward enough to get the arp studs into the hole. I just took mine completely off as it was about 30 seconds more work and I just used my press to put the studs in for the fronts. If you're talking about the rears, you can't put the arp studs in the normal way again. They are just too long.

yea i ended up having to make a trip over to sears at 7:45pm and then head straight to osh by 8pm to get a carbide bit for my dremel. the arp extended studs are almost double the length of the oem ones. so it was alot harder to install. i just did what everyone else said to do which was grind down the abs sensor hole and bore it out a little bit so i can pull it through. i was able to get 2 studs in perfectly before calling it a night. i think im going to do a write up for those wants to install the extended studs. i'll keep you guys posted on how the thing pans out.

I just finished installing the Eibach 5mm prospacer kit.
Rather than enlarging the ABS hole, I dremeled the edge of each of the stud heads. Maybe .5mm at most.
They slide right through the ABS hole.
Total install time was about 3 hours... 45 minutes of waiting while the PB blaster worked on the old studs.
Getting the OEM studs out was harder than getting the new studs in.
