If you set it up for 100%, did you make sure to block off the return hose with the supplied cap? That would cause a problem.
If set up to 50% with the metal return pipe, did you make sure to use the o-ring that it came with. And tighten it down securely?
Did you put the hose onto the nipple of the BOV? That could also cause of a problem.
Was the gasket in between the intercooler and the BOV in good shape when you installed the BOV? It could be leaking between the two.
I had this same BOV on my car and ran into almost every problem you can think of. Let us know if any of these problems were encountered.

well it was at 50 now i put it at 100. i blocked off the fat hose, the gasket between the bov and the intercooler is not in that great of shape, it got a bit scratched up during the install. i put the hose onto the nipple. umm tightened everything to the fullest. at 100 if i shift over 4500 its a clean sound but under its really scratchy, what to do

Did you buy it new or used? And how does the car idle with the GFB installed. Does it go way down and then up again at idle?
There is a known problem with the GFB BOV's, that they don't close completely when the car is at idle, and makes the car run sluggish at idle. What may be happening, is the rod that is in the BOV needs more lubricant because it is sticking open, until you get the revs up, and then it pushes it back down.

I have included a picture of my GFB BOV that I took apart and snapped a photo of it for reference purposes. If you see the copper shaft, I lubed it with Slick 50 and put it back together. There is also a spacer in between the spring and the top. I put a larger spacer in there supplied from GFB straight from Australia and the combination of the two stopped it from sticking at idle.

well i tightened that round thing around the big hose that i blocked off. and now i dont hear the scratching too much. but now when the boost rises, i can hear the BOV making the turbo noise, and now when i shift it doesnt have the big pshht as is did yesterday. also when i shift sometimes the rpms jump and extra 500, and the idle isnt striaght anymore. karl will if be easier if i just came to in n out 2morow for you to grease it? thanks

You can bring your BOV to the meet. Just take it off again and put your stocker on. Also bring a set of allen wrenches so I can take the GFB BOV apart. It will be easy. Believe me.
