Need Help with Alarm Please (Python or viper)

Okay so last night my alarm went off becuase someone or thing walked by it triggering the Proximity sensor.

I turned it off but not knowing that it had left one of my headlights on. When it went off the second time, I went out and saw that it had the light on. By that time I read my voltage on my turbo timer it read 9.0Volt. I turned the key to on and the light turned off. However, the car won't start.

So today when i went to try and fix it, I had to jump the car since the battery is dead. Only 7 to 6 volts reading on my turbo timer.

I went to jump start it but everytime it gets some kind of charge the alarm will go off untill it drains out the battery or i have to cut the power.

It is a python 881 for Mach III. Can some of you experts give me some advice. I can't even start the car right now to even drive it to Mach III to have them look at it.

Help is greatly appreciated.

I did. but the battery is dying so when I went to jump it. the alarm goes off. I don't know if it's because it's reading it as someone trying to mess with the battery.

So I don't know what to do.. If I put it in valet mode it should shut the alarm off and anything I do it should as disconnecting the battery should not set it off right?

yeah putting it in valet mode basically shuts off the alarm unless you trigger panic with the pager. do you know where the proxy sensor is in your car? i had problems with mine going off all the time too so I just pulled it out and sent it to DEI. Had it replaced and it worked fine after that.

It's in the middle of the car.. I have used the same proximity sensor on my other car before.. and it's really a hit or miss with this thing. It's really hard to set the range so that it sets of a warning when so one is close by.. I thing the range changes with temperature. It's probably the most useful sensor but then it's the worse behaving. some times it's set off by vibration or wind. It's very irritating when you live in an condo where everyone shares a parking. when it kicks off it irritates the hell out of everyone.

anyhow, is there an indication when it's in valet mode or not? I know you have to turn the key to on and press the valet button a certain number of times then turn the key off? How would i know if it's on valet or not?

Also how would I turn it back on? After I am done

Read your instruction manual that came with the alarm.. And, you might want to turn down your proximity sensor down a tad, especially if you live on busy street where heavy trucks or pickup trucks with flowmasters might set your alarm off due to vibration..

It was a combination of both battery going weak and proximity sensor going off.. even weakening the battery. As the battery goes weak it goes it triggers the alarm thinking someone is messing with it. So that makes the batter even weaker. As my battery was weak I can't get the car started due to low voltage. I jump started the car today and i's all fine.

Still have to get a new battery.

just for future reference, the blue led indicator light in the car will stay on when you're in valet.
glad you got it fixed .

Thanks for the help. So how do i get it out of valet mode? Or when i arm the alarm it will automatically start it again? My car doesn't chime or beep any more when i arm it now. kinda weird. I guess I will just want till I get my battery to fix everything.

you can take it out of valet with the pager too. when you shut off the car, open the driver side door, press the lock, unlock, lock buttons in that sequence. that should take it out of valet.
