need help

I got a question about a swap I plan to do on my 2000 rs. I plan to do an 2002 wrx swap on it which I knw its like a 220 hp motor.I was wondering if the stock transmission on the rs can handle that power buy just upgrading the clutch.all the info will help I'm still kinda new to subarus and love to knw all I can. Thanks

I wouldn't trust the RS Transmission... hell the 2002 WRX transmission can barely handle that engine.

Yea I'd suggest getting the wrx 5sp. I had no issues with mine on the Ej20 with a turboback and tune at 234 to the wheels.

id swap a wrx transmission at least...

btw 2009 wrx gears are stronger than the years before, and 2-3 have different ratios, allowing for 70mph in 2nd gear and a lovely 95 mph at redline in 3rd...

i love my 2009 wrx gears, best mod ive done to date, now just gotta get a tune

BTW...is there any difference between 2002 and 2005 WRX transmission? I mean, is 2005 tranny stronger than older ones?

If you can find one, consider an '04-'08 Forester XT 5MT -- the gearing is shorter, should be nice on a 2 liter in a light car.

See if Joe still has his, it's in WA though: http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulle...ed-swap-79123/
