Need Coilover assistance.

I have a 2006 WRX TR with a set of Zeal Comp-R coilovers. The issue I am having is the shop that adjusted the ride height used the wrong tools in tightening them and from that the bottom coupler is now broken. This caused the front left coilover to drop and is making a horrible rubbing noise. Here are my questions:

1. Can I drive the car on these coilovers?
2. Do I have a claim against the shop that did the work?
3. How do I go about getting the coilover rebuilt?

I know that no one can provide me any official legal advice, but any helpful information would be awesome. I am pissed that I paid so much for a

If it's just the lock collar on the bottom you can replace it. Zeal will have them instock and they are a standard item.

It is the bottom lock collar.
Looks like the last shop that touched the car had problems getting the collar loose and used too much force.

Can you guys order the part and how much are they?
Also, how much would you charge to replace the item?

How long would it take to get the part, and how much to replace it? Please PM me and I will talk to my work and try to get a day off if needed.

I would drive as little as possible.

Take it back to the shop that did it. I am sure they'll take care of it. If they don't then file a complaint against them and order the part and do it yourself or with another shop.

If the shop won't put this problem right...don't forget to name and shame.

and as for being booked. they really should make room for a mistake. but I'm guessing they can't do anything without the part.

talked to the shop. they are going to look at it. not going to burn a shop for something they might not have done so for now it will remain quiet. I am going to put the stockers back on and enjoy the huge wheel gap for now.

good call. don't forget that your camber will be off so drive as little as possible as I'm guessing you don't want to pay for 2 alignments.

if it's something they screwed up ask them about paying for your alignment.

they did hook me up on the price of the intall and everything already and he said he will work with me. I just need to get the time to make it up there. I am leaving for Kuwait in two weeks so that is what is really stressing me out.

so I have called about 5 shops that deal with Zeal and none of them can find the part I am looking for because the coilovers are so rare and were discontinued three years ago. I am about to blow up I am so pissed.

The coils may be discontinued, but the body itself should be a pretty standard size, and shared with a number of other models. I can't imagine it being otherwise. If you have the strut off, measure the diameter with a set of calipers and use that as a reference. Zeal should be able to determine what other strut parts will work; it's not like it's a DMS 50 with a massive strut body.

I know they're in canada but try AJ Racing. I used to deal a lot with them when Zeal was first...well actually before Zeal entered the U.S. Market.

If it exists and it's zeal they can usually get it. Think the guys name is Jeff. but it's been like 4 years since I talked to them..haaa.

Still...they're canadas number one importer.

if you can't get it...it's on the shop. If they screwed it up then they can figure it out.
