Thumbs down need advice on what to do about someone not paying me

About 4 months ago I installed some parts for I-club member Arrkash. He asked if i could do the work and then he would pay me back the next week once he recieved his paycheck. I have tried collecting the $100 he has owed me for the last 4 months and it's always a new excuse. What is the next step i should take to get the money he owes me?

call his mom!!!

lol.

seriously, i dunno. it might be in your best interest to start having "customers" sign a sales receipt/promissory note to pay at the time your services are rendered. this way, you have legal recourse by taking it to small claims court.

Good Luck

btw, verbal contracts can be enforced in court if you can provide proof of the terms of the transaction and the fact that you did provide those services. maybe small claims court is your best bet if you're willing to deal with the hassle of scheduling a date, presenting your case, and taking time off of work/school.

ooo sorry, forgot to leave the advice.

Hire Brucelee as your collection agency and give him a 20% cut of whatever he collects.

Small claims court. Start filling out the paperwork and let him know, soon as he sees your serious he'll fork over the $$$

I had a similar problem with a guy Spiralsmurf over on nasioc went like this....

July 04 I send $170 money order for Prodrive WR springs (GC8)
Over a month goes by with multiple excusus and no springs
End of August 04 I find out spring are on car still so I ask for a refund
Few more weeks go by + excuses and no $$
I fill out small claims paperwork and notify him I'm doing this
No more than a week later I had my $$ back

I say don't take any crap, your money is your money and he needs to pay you.

awesome!!! with all the shady deals/scams on the forums, it's good to hear that people are finding resolution through precedented channels!

LOL, why do you think?

A) He'd get arrested for assault.
B) He'd spend more money on bail and lawyer fees.
