Need Advice - Building Gaming Computer

I'm new at this and I want to build a gaming/graphics computer, but more of playing games. Would these be good components to use and are they compatiable with each other?

Any advice would be great!!

VIDEO CARDS!!!!!!!!

nothing kills a great game when you are using crappy video cards. for work, i justified a SLI'able NV 7900... hee hee...

Wait until July 22 and Intel Quad Core CPU's will be the same price as the Duo's are now.

If you can't wait, you can overclock that 6400 to at least 3GHz.

And for gaming, you'd be better off with a 10K rpm HD instead of the 7200 rpm one.

go with a 8 series Nvidia card instead of the 7950.

I just picked up a 8800GTS overclocked for 260ish off of zipzoomfly and it will smoke that 7950.

He's getting an SLi mobo, so he might as well get two 8800GTS/GTX's!



p.s. OP - you'll need more than 500W of power. Go with at least 750W.

yeah that would be good, but for the extra $50 get a 8800 series card.. and then SLI it later and your FPS will ROCK

zipzoomfly used to have them for $270 with free shipping.. but looks like they are out. There are cheaper 8800GTSs out there as well.

I think the case I have is to much, would a $50 case with a fan in front and back will due?

Get the GTX card you would be better off with it for gaming.. Especially for future games
and like the other guy said larger Power Supply
