Car Info: EQ tuned 05 STi
Need Advice

im looking into getting a sti soon. im thinking 06 07 or maybe 05 is there a big diffrence between those years? another thing is there anything specific i should look for?

06/07 come with a better transmission and rear diff and an Alfa Romeo front end.

Car Info: 94 Integra beater: one Slow 3 Series RIP EvoX
07 is proly the best year once tuned since the factory map is aweful
Wider gearing as well makes day to day easier to live with
Satin white pearl is the best color IMHO

I remember reading on Nasioc one time there was a pretty common ringland issues on the 2007..anyone care to chime in on that?

that's because of the crappy factory tune
the 07 tended to run lean and caused a bunch of issues
once my 07 was tuned stg2 @GST I never had a single issue

few more facts:

05+ sti comes with 5x114 lug pattern. 04 sti has 5x100 lug pattern.
05 sti comes with vf39 turbo and 06/ 07 comes with vf 43 turbo IIRC.

06 got that funky jdm length downpipe so you cant buy normal catbacks, but can get a tbe. i say go 07 and tune.

Not quite correct. The 06 still had the VF39 and the 07 got the VF43.

Also not true AFAIK. They all have the same downpipes.

I don't know the details but I recall hearing that some suspension components were steel instead of aluminum on some years
