Need an Adivsor

Litteraly

Just for reference, i picked up a 2006 wrx that had been totalled for 2800 dollars during the summer from a mechanic who didnt know anything about subaru's. no one bought it on ebay, so i got him down a bit and trucked it back here from big bear city. So basically, that car is going to be a donor car for a swap that I am starting very soon. Should be fun

here is the advisor part

The swap works for a Senior Project (i get a full class credit, some project of my choice) at my high school. However, i have to have an advisor that will be checking out (in person) what i will be doing for my senior project. (they wont let me use my dad, they said someone who kinda knows what they are doing, and not a parent).

This person only has to check in every 2 weeks or so for the duration of the project or whenever they want. Then at the end of the year (in early june i think, or late May), this person will have to physically come to my school and be part of a committee that will grade my project (no one else's).

The last part is that i have to have someone sign something saying this: "I have read the proposal and I agree to serve as the student's advisor on the project submitted for review." within the next week so i can turn in my proposal on the following monday (oct. 8)

anyone want to volunteer for this position? let me know asap

any questions feel free to post up as well

I would definitely help you out if you weren't 3 hours away. Maybe a suby shop near you? I don't know if there are any in Santa Rosa though

that's a very cool senior project idea. if i was older than 19 i would help you out. you go to SR high? reason i ask is becuase i thought only casa grande in petaluma was the only HS in norcal that had to do senior projects, maybe they've changed it though

This'll be a nice opportunity to get an internship with a shop if someone from a local shop is willing to do this. If you ace this project, maybe it'll prove you can at least sweep the floors and do bit of wrenching as your college job at that shop. Just a thought of a possible opportunity that you can get out of this.

You might also want to talk with LIC, they do conversions and they're just down 101 in Novato.

I did subie business with a real nice young guy who lives in your town. He owns a 06 wrx. I don't think he's really mechanical but I know he's involved in the hobby and he might know someone. Let me know where this post ends up and I'll ask him to read it and respond if he has any ideas.

If you end up without anyone I could possibly do it. IHMO, you'd be better off having someone from a shop be the advisor, but if you're in a bind let me know.

def hit up the guys at FLI, steve would be an awesome advisor, even ryan should have learned a thing or two by now (lol jk ****! )

BTW, smokin deal on the wrecked 06, the drivetrain and any other parts you get out of it are worth at least 5K, what are you putting it into?

edit: nvm, just noticed what car you have

Hit up LIC and see if any of the guys would be willing to do it. I'd be happy to help you out but I'm pretty far away. Although I'm in the novato/petaluma area at least once every two weeks, so it may be possible.
