WOW, I couldn't wait for today to arrive, and, boy, was it worth it!!
3 OT games, including:
CRYverson + the Sixers getting bombed by the Pistons 108-88.
Ricky Davis + the Celts spoiling Larry Brown's Knicks coaching debut 114-100.
AND
the LAKE SHOW back w/PJ at the reins & getting the W over Denver 99-97. Mr CLUTCH himself, Kobe, hit the game winner in the extra period!!!?
I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!
sorry the Warriors couldn't start things off w/a win, but there's still 81 chances left! j/k, I'm pulling for them (even if Mullin did resign & dump a boatload of $$$$ on Dunleavy)
oh yeah, the QUEENS were up to their usual........
NO-SAC + CRY-Bibby 89

and, FWIW, a bunch of the "experts" actually have picked the Queens to win the Pacific Division. Unfortunately, they will probably finish higher than the Lake Show, but at least tonight turned out like old times!

The Suns & Warriors actually have pretty similar games. Both are weak on the defensive end, thin front lines, and, ultimately, have to get out on the break to score a bunch of points in order to win each night.
The top spots in the Pacific are up for grabs though. If the Warriors learn to play together & get a healthy B-Diddy, they might cause the stir that many projected. (really should've traded or held off on resigning Dunleavy + Murphy IS NOT a PF)
Hopefully, the Lake Show will come together and make the playoffs. (still not sold on Odom though. no doubt he has talent, but he's too inconsistent. most of all, I question whether he has the heart + dedication to be a winner)

but i can't take credit for "CRYverson." that's been around for a while. i think i coined "CRY-Bibby," which, IMO, is more fitting. He's a punk!

As much as a warrior fan I am, I'm still skeptical that they'll do well this season (i.e make the playoffs). Davis getting injured in the first game might be a sign of things to come. It's true that they did well without him after he left the game, BUT comon, it's the Hawks they were playing
We'll see how they fare against the better teams.
And wassup with the hawks? They commited like 3-4 flagrant fouls when the warriors were leading by like 15+ points.
