Mystery Bearing - do you recognize it?

I pulled the transmission out of this project car (2004 WRX) and while I was cleaning up I found a bearing on the ground I could not identify.

Any one have a clue where this little guy came from? I would be very grateful to know. It's definitely not the pilot bearing - that's still in the flywheel.

Size? If it's around 1" it could be a pilot bearing

I'll go back to the shop and measure it tomorrow. I can confirm it's not the pilot bearing - that's still in the flywheel. It's about 1.25'' diameter. Inner does not rotate independently - it's one piece. thanks!
