The STi show at the Petersen Museum was great (as the pictures show). Besides the car and very few people (about 200 in and out) they also had good food and drink. With Easy Street and Prodrive also represented it was a blast. You also got to see the auto museum w/ "herbie", the batmobile, and many other tv and movie cars. There was even a 1939 Mayback just behind the STi. At the end they loaded up the car and sent it to Salt Lake City??? If you have friends in that area tell them to be ready.

Subaru Reps, did not know anything about that car with the exception of the info provided in the press release.
Even though it looks like the stock WRX intercooler, I assure you that it is not because I looked at the mounting position of the IC and it covers the stock hole. Remember, the STI intercooler is not all that much bigger than that of the stock intercooler.
The sized of the turbo does not seem to be all that much bigger than the current turbo. But when I looked at the heat shield, it was clear that the heat shield was bigger than that of the stock WRX.

I checked the engine number and it is a 2.5l block (series 3) with DOHC heads (similar to MY98) but maybe not the same head. The air scoop is humungus and will definitely provide more "intercooling", even on a stock WRX. The intercooler "water-spray" tank in the trunk (passenger side) is just like the one in Bozz's, but it's covered with a door.
