My Equilibrium Tuning experience

This past weekend I was tuned by Ed at Equilibrium Tuning. All I can say is wow. The car pulls so hard through all the gears and is very smooth. I have a completely stock 04 wrx. First off the tune got rid of the closed loop delay, saving my engine from the boosting without proper fuel issue and getting rid of the nasty lag before it goes into open loop. Then we tuned for a great smooth and reliable tune with great throttle response. I now get all 15psi by 3k RPM and it comes up very quickly... what's turbo lag? And the power is held all the way to red line. My advance multiplier always stays at 16 and there is no knock at all. We did pull after pull after pull and got consistent torque numbers of 200 to the wheels. That is crazy being fully stock. The peak horsepower we got was 191whp on that run and 193whp on another. All tuning was done on the road without a wideband, so Ed kept the a/f ratios very conservative and my EGT's stay well bellow 1600. As I said before Ed at EQ Tuning worked his magic and I have a powerful, smooth, reliable tune. It is true equilibrium. Check out the gains in the road dyno graph bellow:

What mods do you have? Thats just a little bit more than I'm putting down with a stock car and UTEC (182/181)

Numbers look great. 200 ft lbs with a COMPLETELY STOCK car. I have an appointment with Ed this week, I'm sure he'll get to work his magic on my car. Have fun with your new power.

Damn nice numbers! I bet it even feels better than that on the street too!

Ed w/EQ Tuning tuned my STi, with only a catback and a panelfilter, and got 260ft/lbs. to the wheels, in addition to making my previously rough-running motor as smooth as butter.

My car pulls like crazy now, from the bottom to the top, thanks Ed!

David

My car is completely stock (no mods at all). BTW, my numbers are actually quite a bit higher than yours... 10whp and 19ft-lbs difference to be exact. What dyno where your numbers from, and do you have any baseline numbers to show the actual gains?

ECU reflash with EcuTek is what Duo got IIRC.

I'm getting my car tuned really soon by Ed, as well. I can't wait for it, and am glad to see so many other people are having awesome experiences as well : )

sorry guys but a tuner not using a wideband is just retarded, i had an expirence with a tuner that road tuned my car without a wideband goin off the ecutek software and lets just say it was way off, close to 12.6 afr where he thought it was safe although i was heavy modded still , i know ed knows what hes doin its just you need to be a little more careful id say if he dosnt have a dyno i would pay to rent one out so he could tune my car in a controled safe enviroment, my .02 cents

He dyno'd on our dyno, with his UTEC and the stage 1 map preprogrammed he ran 164whp and around the same tq, if he ran the stock map it would have been 150-155whp. We see about a 5-10% difference between the numbers on our Mustang dyno than using the road dyno feature of Delta Dash, although I can make that difference greatly higher depending upon elevation etc etc.

Nice numbers and curve!

Mike
