I have the same set! Different valkyrie though. You got the VF-1J.. I got the VF-1S.

These new Yamato ones are a lot more detailed and posable than the old ones from Bandai. Although they don't feel quite as sturdy.

The 1/48 scale ones are really nice but will cost you $200+ for a whole kit with armor.

I love the 1/48 valkyrie Stealth.

 

Sam Goody's going out of business sale on Universal City Walk yesterday, everything 80-90% off. They only had fixtures and maxi-single CDs left. The place was destroyed. Samantha wandered in and I went in to retrieve her, grumbling about actually paying for CDs, and that she wouldnt find anything worth buying, when the clouds parted and I saw this lone box set sitting on a dusty shelf in the corner amongst a pile of cel phone chargers.

The funny thing is, on the drive down to LA, Robotech came up in discussion (Samantha's a fan too), and I had been *****ing about how they never released a quality DVD set of the series. The only DVDs I had ever found only had 4 episodes per disc. Shows you what I know...

 

....I hate you. Haha, j/k, good snag. I should hit up Sam Goody this week if they're still open. The last time I was there, the anime crap wasn't even worth buying.

I have a very old die cast and plastic Valkyrie toy (Hikaru/Rick Hunter's) that was given to me by a neighbor when I was 8. It's not in very good condition, but damn, it was the first anime-related toy I had.

picked up some nice freestyle mixed CDs cheap.

still had a docking station for an XM MyFI for like $60 there... so close in picking up a MyFI just to get that killer deal...
