So I left for Tahoe around 4pm and didn't get here till after 10pm due to sitting in traffic to get through 3 chain checks while making my way over the summit.. Long story short my car beasted the entire way with 0 problems and 0 traction issues. Then I arrive to the street our cabin is on which apparently only gets plowed once a day so at first glance it looks like a foot of snow on this road. I was apprehensive about driving on those conditions but didn't really have a choice since it was the only way to get to the cabin. Now she sits on the side of a private road, thank god it wasn't far from the cabin.
I guess im looking for advice on getting my way out of this ****.. im sure there are some people on here that frequent these conditions. We brought a 4wd escalade to pull me out and it got stuck as well haha.. then we just rolled it back down the hill and it luckily got some traction to make it back to the cabin. Should I even attempt chains just to get me out of this?

All I know is this was a horrible start to a vacation in Tahoe

You should definitely try chains, try not to let the tires spin and turn left to right to bite. If you have DCCD put it in full lock. If you can get access to a shovel you can probably dig a path out. Do you have M+S rated tires?
Once you get going, trying to keep momentum too, don't go crazy but if you keep momentum you're less likely to get stuck.
BTW try to get a real 4x4 to pull you out lol.

Yea I put the stockers on for the trip with M+s tires on them. The guys house i got stuck in front of had 2 lifted chevys in the driveway with mud tires and he said they got stuck going up the hill too lol. I never would have attempted it had I knew that beforehand.

The only thing I can think of is using a combo of chains (and maybe some sand or salt to) and just rock the car back and forth in reverse. That's pretty much the only trick. Other wise you're just going to have to find a way to get traction in the 4wd and tow it out. I had to concede to old man winter a few times and have my car pulled out.

Old 4x4 trick... get a coupe feet of of chicken wire and toss it under the back wheels.
The wire will get sucked under the wheels and give you a little "lift" and traction to get out

Chicken wire is a bad idea with smaller wheels and smaller fenders - easy way to rip up the back half of your car if you spin it up into the wheelwells, snag brakelines, etc.
Idea is sound, I just wouldn't do it with a lowered car.

If you leave it there, they will plow it in an you'll be hating that! Just use a snowblower( barrow from a neighbor if you don't have one) and plow a path.
Just don't leave it. You'll be pissed!

You could try letting some air out of the tires to try some traction. But definitely sand chains and tow. Try to shovel snow out from in front of the tires as well.
not sure how well this will work for snow but in sand it works. put 2x4's in front or behind the tires (depends on which direction you want to go). this will give you something solid to start moving.
I'd still put on chains to keep the traction once you get moving.

+1. I have used this trick a couple times on my friend's FWD car.
