My car stinks!

ever since putting in the DP, it stinks so much. Even Mike at Gruppe-S noted when he was tuning it, he could barely stand to be in the room.

what the heck can I do, if anything? Done the plugs and all the filters...doesn't help it one bit. Switched from Mike's custom tune map to CA Stage 2 map on the Accessport...stinks a little less, but still really rank.

Any suggestions? Or is it time to put the cat back on?

Check for leaks where the turbo connects to the downpipe.

Looks good to me...don't really know how to check other than visual/olfactory inspection. Gruppe-S put it on for me, so I have confidence it's tight. It's coming straight outta the tailpipe...no place else.

are you running catless? A friend said a catless WRX on average polutes as much as 26,000 stock WRXs. (from some magazine he read a while ago) IMHO, a car should run atleast 1 cat.

Somebody told me that with all 3 cats, the WRX is one of the cleanest running cars out there

I am completely catless (sorry planet), also gruppe-s installed and I can't smell a thing....I expected a real nasal experience after reading what people said about running catless, but I've never smelled a thing.

A friend of mine runs a catless engine back set-up. I don't smell a thing when I sit in his car. It only sucks to drive behind him with the vents open...

please play responsibly. one high flow cat won't hurt performance that much and you won't stand out to law enforcement.

Have you ever driven behind yourself? Usually you only smell it when the engine is under load, I can smell a catless car from a long ways away. Usually it's an older muscle car or something but occasionally it's a newer car. VERY obvious though. Gives me a headache if I drive behind them for long.
