my car needs new door?!

Hey guys, I took my car into Green Valley subaru (I know, I know) to have my driver's side window checked out because it got stuck in the up position. They told me today that a new door has to be ordered and painted to match my car because when the window broke it bent some bolts in my door. Anyone ever heard of this? I just can't imagine a busted window motor requires a new door! It is under warrnty, but I don't want aftermarket paint on one door if i don't need it. I only took it there because SOA reccomended them (stellar performer), but now that I have read reviews of the dealership I am all freaked out.

I had window problems before, it was in a GM and was not warranty and it really sucked, and the same thing happened because, at least in my case, to get the window down, they had to force the moter and in doing so they bent the bolts to the door and runed the door. In my case it wasn't too bad adn they got the window working w/ only a little door misalignment. so I lived with it instead of paying GM's overpriced door. $700 w/ out paint for a '83 S-15 Jimmy. It was misaligned only about 1cm so it wasn't a big deal. At least they didn't charge me because of the damage.

Thanks for easing some of my atention bajanut. I couln't beleieve that a window problem could ruin a door, but now that i have heard your story, I might actually sleep tonight. On the plus side, I'll get rid of the two dings in that door!
