I came out to my car this morning and noticed a medium sized rock close by in the street and it was definitely out of place, but I didn't have time to deal with it since I was in a rush to get to class. I get to school and I go to shut my door and I noticed that it wasn't shutting all the way. Sure enough, there was a dent right above the drivers side window. Now I have to roll my window down slightly to get my door to close all the way. The dent is about 3 inches wide on the "ledge" right above the window.
I got home and after further inspection there was a broken off piece of rock that happened to fit nicely into place with the bigger rock that was 15 ft away. Obviously, whoever through it was aiming for my window but missed.
I called to file a police report and I was told that between 20-30 were vandalized in my neighborhood last night. It is weird because I live in a quiet area with a lot of older people. It isn't brand new houses but it is fairly crime free area.
Anyways, I am not sure if I should call my insurance and report it or not, because it needs to be fixed. I may end up paying more if I notify them.
Does anyone know of a good body shop or someone that works at a shop that will fix it for cheap? It isn't that bad.. just annoying as hell and idk what will happen when it rains. I am sure it would take a professional only 30 minutes to fix it.

mm idk but a similar situation happened to my friend.
his rx8 was hit-and-run in the middle of the night and no evidence was provided, but the insurance company fixed his car and he didnt have to pay a deductible, nor did his rates go up. maybe give it a try?
if you get unlucky, you Might have to pay more. idk. just what ive heard in the past.
