My 360 died, but some how I ended up with $50 and an Elite and 2 games!

My launch date 360 finally took a dump while playing way too much Forza 2. The video went out. Still booted up fine but I would only get sound, no video. Tried another cable, tried another TV.

Took it back to Costco and the refunded me the $525 I paid for it when they were released. I proceeded directly to Gamestop and got the Elite which includes Forza 2 (already had it) and Marvel something or other. I love Costco.

The Elite or just the new chip set is so much quieter. No more plane taking off. It runs a ton cooler in my entertainment center also. Score.

They had the date of when I bought it in the computer, so they knew it was like 2 years old. They were hella cool.

didn't they have new policy on electronics (3 months) that started a while back?

those that purchased before the new policy still have the exchange/refund when you want policy.

Totally. They took back my 360 DOA and let me swap for a new one. I had thrown away all the boxes and wrappings that the bundled accessories had come in, and they took it all back and gave me a voucher for the amount I paid.

I'm kinda hoping it dies again so I can either get one with the new chipset or upgrade to an elite. Costco's great, screw microsoft's warranty.

I dunno about that one. People have been doing it for years for anything. Even cell phones, you can return after a year and get a full refund (aka free upgrade to a new phone)

They've made some policy changes when it comes to computers and such, but otherwise they have had this type or return policy for as long as I can remember

Here's the deal. They have a new exchange policy on electronics (90 day I think). But if you bought the item before they made the policy change they honor the forever policy.

nowhere in there does it state video game consoles.

note to others: buy your big ticket items like appliances, vacuum cleaners, etc... from costco.
