Multi-tools that are allowed on airplanes?
Anyone know of multi-tools (leatherman, swiss-army, etc) that are ok to bring on airplanes?
That means NO blades.
Ideally I want it to have:
- scissors (TSA says shorter than 4" is ok)
- screw driver flat/philips
- bottle opener
- file
- small, fits on a keychain
So far everything I see has blades.

Dude, just check a bag. I travel a LOT and just got back from NY, CHI and Seattle a bit ago. I travel with cutters, a Leatherman wave, two Gerber knives and a few other terrorist-type pieces.
No matter what TSA says on the website or what is supposed to be okay, you will find some TSA agent who does not agree and wants to cause you a problem. It's just "easier" to put everything in a checked bag, and breeze through security. 3 out of 5 times I will have a TSA agent tell me that I cannot leave my laptop in my "TSA Approved" bag. It's just the way it goes.

I find that to not really be the case. I have never had to wait more than 10-15 minutes in the worst case to get my luggage and usually a trip to the rest room and figuring out how to get a taxi/train/rental car can be done during that time. As someone who travels a lot, it's really annoying to see people who think they are saving time by bringing a bag as large as the one I check onto the plane and causing problems with it, putting stuff in the over-head waaaay away from their seats and making 40-50 people wait for them while they fight back to get it etc. There are a couple people who do this on every single plane ride, and in many cases we end up out on the sidewalk or waiting for a taxi at the same time. But whatever. My trips are SOOOOO much easier and less stressful now that I just check a bag.

In my case, I don't have that big a bag to struggle with. When I do have a bigger bag, I do check in.
Whatever. It doesn't appear people know of any multi tools the OP is talking about.

The only thing worse then TSA policy is the training their people get.
For some stupid reason TSA gives active duty military in uniform the hardest time. Few years back, I had my gas mask in my carry on and with how they acted, you'd think they found a weapon.

You know, I think my wife's Leatherman might fit your needs. I will see if I can find it. I have one from REI that sort of meets your needs, but it's really not very good so that's why I did not suggest it..
