the result is obvious. the more jdm stuff have on the car, the more likely the participants will win.

same thing goes to domestic cars. you don't see domestic muscle cars using japanese made parts (if there's any) and win do you? lol

So in aesthetically speaking -

to fix up any japanese ride, you gotta go with JDM parts

and to fix up a domestic muscle car, go w/ domestic parts.

So keep it real and stay true

Oh belive me, I DO hate the JDM game

hmm, I would argue that the true soul of a car comes out by finding its perfect balance of form and function, not by what country the parts you put on it happen to come from. Is my borla hush not the best exhaust I have had on my car because it does say "Made in Japan" on it? Would my car have more soul if I swapped out my Whiteline sway bar for a Cusco?

haha Cal, what the hell are you talking about? lol

well, I dont think I can argue that you dont see domestic muscle with JDM parts on them, but I think thats because there isnt any! But ar you then saying that Japanese companies couldnt make domestic parts as well as US companies if they wanted to?

well this is a subjective statement since aesthetics are subjective, so both of us our going to be right depending on what qualites we would judge a car by, which goes back to the idea of a balance of form and function, some people could care less about form and only care about what makes a perform to the best of its abilities using the best part available regardless of what country they come from. Those that care only about form can usually be found in droves at your local 'Honda Import Nights' events or in line to see Fast n Furious movies. AS far as our little car show goes, and the typical feeling of our little Subaru community in general , the crowd and the cars in participation tend to lean towarnd the former than the latter, and thats the way I like it too!
Okay, my JDM hard on is subsiding...

i think you misunderstood me there. i was not talking about performance aspect of things. i was actually talking about aesthestics in general. im just sick and tired of seeing replica **** all over the place. its hurting the market itself and making the cars look cheap.

And I am not saying japanese companies couldn't make domestic car parts. However the way i see it.. if they do make it, i don't think msucle car owners will approve or buy it. Its like "why are they all up in our biz now?" "what do these guys know about the history and heritage of our muscle car?" "do these thing work on our cars?"

yes and no.. im just voicing out my opinion - if its a show, it has to be both form and function. otherwise why bother throwing a show?

JDM phag chiming in......I just replaced some of the parts I didn't like, or were worn out, with OEM Japanese parts because they were cheaper or better, I'm running stuff from all over the world anyways (german, french, japanese, australian, etc) so I don't think there's anything wrong with finding stuff you like better. I'd never claim my car was JDM, though, I'm never sure about that term. IMO, it only applies to an actual JDM vehicle, not a cinverted modelfrom anywhere else, no matter how extensive. Anyways.

Sneak peek, it's changed a touch from the last pics...

See you kids tomorrow, you're all taking this way too seriously

haha, no your no where near what I would consider a JDM 'phag' then

They are the ones who think that all JDM parts are superior by sheer virtue of where they were made. And thats just plain ignorant.

heh , okay fair enough, like I said its subjective, and since Im not much into aesthetic modfactions I'm inclined to take your word for it that the japanese bits are better.

And your rigt, Japanese made performance parts for muscle cars would go over about as well as a big fart in middle of church her ein the US, hell look how the mullets came all unglued when Toyota entered NASCAR. The rhetoric got so racist I was just waiting for them to pull out their white hoods a torches!

i have to disagree.

noone said all JDM parts are superior. but i can say 95% of their products are made better, fit better, and worth its value while the fake replica stuff are usually made from lesser quality material, poor fitment and let me simply put it "cheap". Do you believe you get what you pay for? I certainly hope so.

all good.. jeremy

however, i think you should refrain yourself from using the term "jdm phag". you don't see me going around calling majority of i-club members sporting replica stuff "cheapass *****". right?
