MP3 Players

After seeing all the different kinds waiting in the ski lift lines, i really want one.

Sansa 6 gig with FM radio/recorder! i played with a lot in best buy today.
The big Creative Zen is cool, along with the Zune, but they are bulky.

why do people put AAA stickers on the back of their car? and why are they always the worst drivers?

Thanks

just cuz it's an ipod doesn't mean it has to run aac, and itunes doesn't need to import to aac either (=

stay away from rio....and iriver too. my first rio was absolute crap (the power button fell off) and my iriver freezes randomly sometimes...in addition to that the genius in charge of designing the reset button made it so that you need a small paper clip or smaller (no large paper clip or ball point pen) to reset it. Since it also doesnt work with my Mac, I'll probably be going to the 80gig ipod video. And yes, I do use that much space

Sorry, you have to be older than 20.7 years old to own an mp3 player.

If you want sound quality go with Cowon. I have a Cowon IAudio M3L from back in the day. Compared to my lady's ipod nano i got her, it BLOWS THE IPOD NANO AWAY in sound quality. Not even close. I compared them using my Shure earbuds, not the stock crap. i havent compared it to any other mp3 player manufacturer.

of course, the cowons arent nearly as user friendly as the ipods. but you arent gonna be fiddling around with your mp3 player and choosing tracks while doing 720's on your board.

and you can use the cowons on macs.

Nothing beats an Ipod. That's why they have such a HUGE market share. They're the standard. Only annoying thing is having to hack into them to get your music off if it's not the right computer. I move around on several computers and it's a pain in the butt. Hopefully that will change as thier competitors are not making it so hard.

There are some nice ones out now though....but I like my ipod. I will get another ipod unless something rediculously pimp comes out that WORKS.

stay away from anything RIO....I killed 2 or 3 of those damn things. 2 of the sport model ones that are suppose to be all tough...pieces of crap.

Sure there are some that beat ipod. It just depends on what you're looking for in a mp3 player.

I have the Sansa 8gb. I love it. I am not a ipod person/ lover at all. It has a slot that you can add a 2gb micro sd card for $50. I bought because I wanted a portable jukebox (from being a DJ) and needed the fm tuner feature to recorder, and the microrecorder feature as well. For ipod, you have to buy those add-ons... FTL

I started with a 30gb Creative Zen Xtra. Yeah it's a bit bigger than the standard iPod, but it was twice the space for the same price and MUCH more user friendly. The software wasn't quite as good as iTunes though, but once u got it figured out it wasn't bad. I'd still have it if the HD didn't fail.

Lots of players beat iPod unless you rate MP3 players solely on the number of 3rd party accessories available. They are #1 because they spent more money marketing it than anyone else.

Using your logic, it could be said that nothing beats Microsoft Windows. That's why they have such a HUGE market share. But I'll bet you don't believe that huh?

I like my iRiver, my son got it all screwed up one and I had to reflash the firmware and go back to scratch. But other than that, it's been great. I use it to record meetings more than I use it as an MP3 player.

I just got a friend the new iRiver Clix.. check it out, it's pretty damn cool.

you don't have to HACK anything to get music off, just turn on viewing of hidden folders. done.
