Motorola KRAZR on Verizon -- Any good?

So it's about time for a new cell phone, and I saw this nice deal at the Verizon shack at Circuit City. It's basically a Motorola KRAZR at a deep discount with Verizon service. I'm currently using an old Sony Ericson on Cingular, and I was wondering how the KRAZR on Verizon compares. Is anyone using that setup? I just want some opinions from my esteemed i-Club colleagues before I buy haha.

Stay away from the Motorolas just cuz after awhile they get worse on you i went through 2 RAZR and 1 SLVR before i got my Samsung SGH-A707 its a better fone have no probs with it and it has a 2.0megapixal camera. But yea gett'n the KRAZR is like get'n the SLVR and RAZR just not worth it you Ericson is better than those two or three.

What exactly do you mean when you say that the Motorolas get worse on you? They're not reliable or break easily or something? Thanks for letting me know!

well my RAZR on both of them for some reason the buttons fried and shorted out. and the SLVR yea its great that it has the itunes and all but i always had a problem with the connection on the bluetooth and its reception and my other friends who had the SLVR was saying the same thing. So my guess is that the KRAZR is both of those fones in one. If you really want another phone id go with what i have now the Samsung SGH-A707 i love it, its bluetooth is much faster with the current phones (i use bluetooth alot with sending ringtones and msgs to ppl near me instead of text'n)

Here are the specs of my phone this site gives other phones also if you are also interested in something else.

you can totally tell most motorolas suck, just by feeling them on the display. My friend has gone thru 2 razrs and now has a slvr. Theyre buttons are crapp, and just has an over all crap feel.

Nothing beats a brick phone with real buttons and strength, especially when a contracts involved and they screw you.

the chocolates buttons SUCK get the Envy brick

The black VZW samsung is what i want

The Motorola GUI's are slow and clunky. I've had a RAZR and a KRZR and got rid of both before going to Sony Ericsson (I've since sold that and got a Treo).

My recommendation is stick with the Sony Ericsson. Their interface and Nokia's interface can't be more friendlier. The menus are straight to the point, quick and speedy.

Thank you VERY VERY much guys! I was pretty sure that I was gonna go for the KRZR, but after everyone's feedback I'm sure I'll go for something else now. Really guys, thank you!

I had a $20 motorola phone that had the exact same menu layout as one of these new fangled razrs. You figure if your going to be paying something like $100 for a phone you could at least get a more user friendly menu other than the one that came from a $20 phone that was released in 2003.

ive had my verizon krzr for about 4 months, everything has been pretty good. Only thing is, you cant charge it over night or else itll get over charged and die really fast. with my old samsung, i could charge it as long as i wanted.

It's a shame Verizon uses CDMA. If it used GSM like T-Mobile or Cingular you can use all types of phones.

Stay with cingular and get a 8525. You will be amazed when il show you how to flash from mobile windows 6 to Windows Vista, on a pda phone. 8125-8525 phones > regular music / picture taking phones. With Pda's you can wifi, surf internet like a real computer, put snes games, put ps1 games, detect upcoming redlight camera, endless possibilities.
