Motorcyclist Extricated From Grizzly Peak Crash

POSTED: 7:44 pm PDT October 24, 2006

BERKELEY -- The Berkeley Fire Department has extricated and transported a motorcyclist who plunged over the side of Grizzly Peak Boulevard Tuesday evening, according to a dispatcher.

There was no immediate update on possible injuries.

An Oakland Fire Department dispatcher said that despite the incident occurring in Oakland, Berkeley units led the rescue.

Rescuers were called at 6:03 p.m. to Grizzly Peak Boulevard and Centennial Drive, but had difficulty locating the scene of the accident, which was three miles south on Grizzly Peak, the Berkeley dispatcher said. A helicopter was summoned to the scene.
