Motorcycle Riders!

Hey guys,

I need your opinions.

I have an 2006 Honda CBR F4i and it has been sitting in my garage for the past 6 months. I have not been able to ride it whatsoever because I've been busy; however, now that summer is coming up, I want to begin prepping it maintain it. Just wondering, what should I do to it? I was thinking about just draining the fuel and adding fresh fuel, check lube on chain, tire pressure and then bring it to a bike shop so it can re do my 8K service on it just to make sure it's all in working order.

Anything you guys can suggest?

How long ago was your service done? If it was last fall or so, I'd check the tire pressure then go for a ride. You can drain the gas if you want, but I would just fire it up and listen to it and go from there. I'm loving that the nice riding wheather is here.

My 8K service was done on 9/5/09...LOL!!

I don't ride it that much, so it's current mileage is around 9K-10K.

I know since the bike is fuel injected, there shouldn't be a major issue with fuel choking up the lines.

its a honda, fresh gas and check tire pressure. ive had a couple f4i's over the years and they are the best bike to neglect and survive.

I have an 01 f4i... I would say... charge the battery, fill the tires, and lube the chain... check the tension too... remember too loose is better than too tight.

Ride it around and top it off with some new gas and yo shouldn't have a problem

listen for a loose cam chain tensioner as well. F4, F4i and RR's had those and regulator/rectifiers failed all the time. So make sure you charge your battery up all the way before using it, The charging systems on bikes can not handle a dead battery recovery.

The bike should be fine. Even the gas is probably ok. The battery might need replacing though. They are small and deteriorate fairly quickly if they are not in regular use. If you ever want to store the bike, a battery tender is a good idea.
