here is mine
here is 1st interval in Hawaii, since moving from Nor Cal. 2nd Amsoil SS 5w30 oil change (1st was done as soon as I bought w close to 17k miles on odo), 3,195 on interval, car was at 20k-ish miles at the time. Stage 2, tuned by Ed (EQ) since I've owned car. I've retuned since, will do another after first interval with 1.5xtr.

I am curious why the price of a good oil bothers people? We are talking about the life blood of your motor. Don't cheap out on it, buy the best you can get your hands on, change it often. Sure...you might end up spending 300-400 a year more, but isn't that a tiny, tiny amount compared to the 6000+ to replace the motor?

First: just because something's cheap doesn't mean its crap, and so on.
Second: if the "replace motor" logic was sound, every other subaru in existance would be sitting on jackstands with a blown motor.
Third: Changing oil excessively, with expensive oil (I hear some are crazy enough to change full synth oils at only 2500mi of street driving), is a fantastic way to throw away money like a retard.
I've had great results with Rotella t6 synth changed at 6-10k intervals depending on use, I'll have to dig up some reports later.

Has he started actively racing his car that warranties use of expensive racing oil? I feel like this can parallel all of the coil over threads; why buy something you won't fully utilize the benefit off? But it is his car and he is welcome to do whatever he pleases

This is why I do not use Amsoil

Why does the TBN drop significantly to 2.5 when it starts off at 12.6? (TBN is the amount of detergents that keep your motor clean)
Another example, TBN down to 4.4 with the same amount of usage as I had on 300v.

Moly Basics - Bob is the Oil Guy - Bob is the Oil Guy
Moly is what keeps your engine lubed. 300v apparently has 5 times more lubing power than signature series?
The 8100 X-Clean that Overbear buys from us is at $11 a quart of $51 I think for a 5L jug.
TBN starts off at 7.4 less of a drastic drop. Viscosity seems to be a bit higher than amsoil after similar use also.

If Im doing so callled $50 oil changes every 3000 miles..... and I go 6000 miles on $100 oil that doesn't break down as easily as any of the other oils aren't I spending the same amount of money for a better quality and an oil thats proven in motorsports? I feel more comfortable using 300v and 8100.

But that report looks healthy? I mean he even tells you that you can go longer on the filter and the oil... And reports that even after 4500 TBN is still within the "healthy" range
I just don't see the point. Just my opinion tho. I'm all for using high quality products, but I think there is a difference between appropriate care vs excessive spending.
Do you track your car?

So you don't like Amsoil because it is only 300-400% better than the average instead of 700% better?
And I am also not sure how you are doing your math, but everywhere I looked Motul would cost me $80 per change. Amsoil costs me $40. How exactly am I spending same amount for insufficient protection? But that report looks healthy? I mean he even tells you that you can go longer on the filter and the oil... Personally, I would like to see a large random sample selection of test results for each oil along with comparative vehicle usage histories, instead of hand picked examples from OP to support his point
Unless something changed in the last 2 months, he does not even bring it out to car meets
