Vasily and the movie based on him was the reason I got a m44 and m38, and the fact that he shot that rifle day to day was amazing. I fired more than 60 rounds at Santa Clara Field sports once and man did my shoulder took a beating.

I forgot where I read it, or possible watched it on military channel, but army A. was outmanned 5:1 by army B. and jokingly asked by the larger army what their plan was since they were so outmanned, the General of that small army said " we'll show up, and each of my soldiers will fire 5 rounds, and we'll go home "
