I do like the look of it, but are they still making it?

Not in terms of appearance, or performance. Those of you that have them and say they don't bounce around....what kind of suspension and wheels are you running. Maybe on a stockish car they're fine where the suspension and tires soak up bumps and jolts, but on a car with an aggressive spring or coilover setup they're ricer lights installed on a Subaru.

If setup right the Morettes look clean.
Ebay lights are on par with the Morettes except in terms of the optics.

Morettes in certain colors and all can look ok, but mostly NO.

I think you may be one of the few with such a poor experience. I've seen them 3-5 guys cars personally over the years, and they've loved them. I loved 'em as well. Too bad you had a bad experience

Aside from other people and what they say, how were they on your 02-03 bugeye?

I don't own a bug eye. I own an RS. I can only dream of morettes for my car

I've seen then on Dee, Justin, Mike, Steve and Ted's cars. They all loved them, and they are fit and worked out fine. I dunno.

Exactly my point.

Morettes on an RS may be a better construct overall as the light assembly is much more compact. There was alot of flex in my assembly and I was very unsatisfied. This doesnt mean that every other set will be just like mine however I think it to be more the norm than anything. Seriously, get a set of JDM's and modify the cutoff or EDMs and never have to worry about a silly housing, wiring mess, or resale value. JDM/EDM lights hold value for one reason. THEY WORK. Morettes selling for $150 as stated earlier is a prime example of the market for them, and its obviously based on peoples opinions and options.

I run them on my '02 bugeye. I also run AGX's on the stiffest setting along with Tein springs. They don't bounce around on me at all. Started with the regular halogen ones and then upgraded (swap with GST Mike) for HIDs. I will admit that the way the back of the lights attaches to the housing is crappy. But my headlights still don't bounce around ricer style. And they are far superior to the stock lights as far as quality of beam and were a cheaper option then going JDM which was the way to go when I bought them. Plus I also like the way they transform the front end of the car.

*shrug*

I'm on Tein Flex's set near full stiff, on 235/40/17's with stiff sidewalls. Guess I got lucky.

Gagan, I'm still working out a set for you, I just have to deal with a shop that screwed me to get 'em :|

Had mine for 3 yrs got it painted MBP to match and love em. Wiring was a mess from the previous owner, but I got new HIDs and re-did the wiring.

And by any chance does anyone know what wheels these are?
I have fond memories of chasing that car all over Thunderhill.

I never could quite catch Steve.

As for the lights, the Morettes are nice, but the Prodrive/UK300's I had on the WRX were just plain sex.

Crappy pictures, but you get the idea:

I like the look of morettes, but I prefer JDM projectors. Here's a shot of mine. BTW just installed the angel eyes a few days ago

Had those on my old 02 WRX Wagon. The plastic outer was a 7/10 (fit was "ok" but not perfect), but the lamps themselves (Hella projectors) and bracket/wiring were 9/10. LOTS (and I mean LOTS!) better than stock as far as what it lit up on the road!

Only "issue" I had was a rock came up and cracked one of the Hella lamps on a roadtrip. I did some bartering with someone in the lighting business and got a replacement glass lense (normally NOT sold separately, at least then) and fixed it myself. I also put XPel (3M) film on the glass Hellas after that so they wouldn't break again.
