Well it must be nice to be Mclaren and have access to Lewis Hamilton AND Jensen button to test out your newest road car the MP4-12C for you. I love how they are both so nonplussed by the whole experience, this car has 600hp and weighs 2800 lbs, it is out right pants-s***ingly fast for any of us mere mortals, they describe it as "quite fun" and "feels rather quick" must be like driving a golf cart to them,

Is it me or does the quality of the body panels and exterior in general look kind of janky and not worthy of a Mclaren? PS you know if its a Mclaren it's probably using Ferrari technology :P

 

ya the fit and finish isnt 100% since these are prototypes, not sure about the Ferrari part though, where did you hear that??

 

Oh the Ferrari bit was an ill-referenced joke about how McLaren F1 was given a lot of confidential information by a Ferrari F1 team member.

On the Mclaren.. looks sexy in black.. I'm sure in person it would be pretty jaw dropping... only complaint is the read end looks a little busy, but thats like picking out a small mole on a pretty girl

 

why does it have 5 lugs and not just a single one?

 

Why wouldnt it? The only reason for a single center lug is so pit crews can change wheels faster in a race. The only reason some exotics have it is to give it some BS pretense of race cred.

 

I dunno, just seems like it'd be better when you decided to race the car (if you did, and I sure as hell would). Its rare to see a super car with anything but 1 lug.

 

believe it or not, theres alot of 'rice' on exotics, Center lock wheels is a great example. Lets put it this way, you would not only have to be racing your expensive exotic, but also in a series where you would have timed pit stops and a pit crew. I'd like you to name one.

And before you say GT3 realize that Porsche sells a Cup specific GT3 race car with center lock wheels, but the street GT3 has 5 lugs. The center lock on the Carrera GT is just for bling.
